Discover. Connect. Take Action.
Girl Scouts offers a myriad of programs, events, activities and opportunities where a girl can find out who she is and who she wants to be. Visit the GSGLA website calendar and check out the upcoming events or download the 2012-2013 Program Guide. Activities are girl-led and cooperative, and engage girls in discovering themselves, connecting with others, and taking action to make the world better.
Discover, Connect, and Take Action are the three program keys to leadership and all Girl Scout experiences are designed to tie to one or more of the 15 national leadership outcomes categorized under these keys.
Discover: Girls understand themselves and values and use their knowledge to explore.
Connect: Girls care about, inspire, and team with others locally and globally.
Take Action: Girls act to make the world a better place.
Program Focus Areas
GSGLA's five Program Focus Areas -- Arts & Culture, Business Smarts, Environment & Outdoor Adventure, Science & Technology, and Wellness & Healthy Living -- demonstrate the breadth of Girl Scout Opportunities.
GSGLA produces five signature events that celebrate highlights of the Girl Scout experience: Family Science Festival, Service Saturday, Cookie Kickoff, Annual Meeting & Volunteer Recognition Ceremony, and the Gold Award Ceremony.
Leadership Opportunities & Awards
Girl Scout programs incorporate ways for girls to develop their leadership skills, and there are opportunities for girls to take on leadership roles outside of their troops.
Prepared opportunities and curriculum that culminate with the most-prized Girl Scout incentive -- a patch!
Girl Scouts has a rich tradition of community service. Get inspired to get involved.
Facilitated by Girl Scouts of the USA and hosted by individual councils, GSUSA, and contracted organizations, these events or trips open girls up to new worlds and ideas.
Clubs and Teams
GSGLA's teams and clubs offer girls and troops the opportunity for in-depth and on-going exploration of certain topics, such as robotics, astronomy, and hiking.
Great fun and interesting opportunities hosted by external organizations, community groups, and businesses.
