LEADERSHIP LINKED TO GIRL SCOUTING While all extracurricular activities are linked to leadership qualities, Girl Scouting Works: The Alumnae Impact Study reports that longer-term Girl Scout alumnae self-identify as leaders in greater numbers than women who were not Girl Scouts. Alumnae are also more likely to have had opportunities to be leaders in community settings, clubs, education, social circles, and volunteer experiences. One of the best ways to grow leadership in Girl Scouts is through earning the Girl Scout Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards. These awards require making a positive impact on a community and are the highest honors that Girl Scout Juniors, Cadettes, and Senior/Ambassador Girl Scouts can earn, respectively. Click here to read more about these awards and how to get started. Click here to find out how to get involved with Girl Scouting. |

TOGETHERTHERE - HAVE YOU SIGNED THE PLEDGE? A girl looks at the world around her; the country's leaders and captains of industry; at TV, movie, sports, and pop stars; at fashion magazines — what do her possibilities look like? Who are her role models? How can she be it, if she can't see it? It's time we made changes that support her path to success. Together, we can get her there. Go to www.ToGetHerThere.org for more information and to sign the pledge. |
